The Northeast Neighborhood is located in the Northeast corner of the city of Fitchburg, WI. Most of its approximately 800 acres are farmland, with a small amount of rural housing. A developer, Phil Sveum, has purchased 251 acres of farmland (highlighted in red on the lower map), and wishes to develop it. Neighbors from Fitchburg, Dunn and Blooming Grove came together to oppose the development, and have reached out to residents of all of Fitchburg, who will be affected by higher taxes, increased traffic and pollution. We are also appealing to all who love to fish and boat and swim in Lake Waubesa, because development of the Northeast Neighborhood could severely damage it. Please read on to learn more about this unique piece of land, and how you can help to save it!
